Band information
The alpha-numeric code on auxillary bands consists of two characters. The code is repeated twice on each band, and the first character of each code is underlined. Bands are read from left leg to right leg. Please use the following codes for colors: bk (black), w (white), y (yellow), AL (metal), NONE (no band), UNK (unknown if leg is banded). For example, the duck in this photograph has a metal band on the left leg and a yellow 85 band on the right leg; this is recorded as AL / y85. Additional examples are posted below. Please report bands even if you cannot read the combination.
